Here they are, only two months late or so:
Learn five songs on accoustic guitar completely (not just strumming the chords)
Write five new complete songs
Get bodyweight down to 185 lbs. at no more than 12% bodyfat
Finish 12 books
Sell something on E-Bay (so far, I have only ever purchased things)
Paint the house
Fix the bad boards on the deck and re-stain
Fix boards under the window sills
Get golf handicap index to less than 1.0
Quit raising my voice at the kids
Become better organized at work
Become better organized and tidier at home
I have mini-goals that I'd rather not publish. Basically, they are goals that are more measurable and specific than things like not raising my voice at the kids. They are designed to supplement the more vague goals above (mainly, the last three).
Wish me luck, especially on the golf handicap. I finished 2008 at 4.3. The chances of an experienced golfer making such a drop in one season are pretty slim. But I've got a plan, at least. If I work the plan, but still miss the goal, I can live with that.

Most authors can't write one book in a year, and you're going to write 12...wow.
Shouldn't you put off painting until after you know whether you're relocating?
Being better organized has never been an issue in my experience. It's getting rid of the crap you're trying to organize that doesn't really matter and takes away from organizing what does matter. Google Desktop organizes all my old email and files, so I don't have to org it myself anymore. That was a big help. I've found if I get on an organizing bent, I organize my day around bicycling (exercising), reading, guitar, work, online time, everything...and then I find myself being worried if I miss something and upset the organization. Foolishness (on my part). Life's too short to be trying to organize your day in that way.
Oh come on, how long could it take for a guy to write "Hop on Pop?"
Nahhh...ya got me. I plan to READ 12 books (in addition to the two I have read thus far). And as long as we're clarifying things, I already have written and know how to play many (ok, some) songs on the guitar...I want to learn and write five NEW songs each.
If events beyond my control make impossible any of my goals, I get a pass. But to your point about relocating, that IS why I put off building a putting green in the back yard for at least another year.
Getting rid of the crap is the number one thing I can do and plan to for organization. I am a pack rat...always thinking "I'm going to wish I still had that some day!" And then it happens maybe once every five years that I'm glad I did save something. One of the books I read, Getting Things Done by David Allen, is going to help me here.
I should look into the Google Desktop idea.
P.S. After re-reading, I think I may have mis-interpreted the purpose of your painting-before-knowing-where-you-will-be-living.
I took it as to say, "What if you move and thus cannot achieve the goal?"
Perhaps instead you meant, "Why paint the house if you may not have to maove?"
If it was the latter, the answer is the house still needs painting.
